TAME YOUR TONGUE – HH CENSURED

- By NATION REPORTER

POLITICIANS should learn to tame their tongues before exhibiting their ignorance, says Gallant Youth in Zambia executive director Henry Mulenga.

Mr Mulenga charged that the attack by UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema on United Nations Resident Coordinator Janet Rogan was in bad faith.

He said should the opposition UPND continue to cry over their loss during the 2016 elections, they would again face it in the next elections. He said the Zambians are tired of complaints and that instead of been grumpy the party should convince citizens on their plans if voted into power.

“It is now boring to talk about the same things and years have passed without any progress made for the benefit of the nation,” he said.

Mr Hichilema during a media briefing accused the Ms Rogan of helping the ruling Patriotic Front ‘steal’ the 2016 elections.

Mr Mulenga said the attacks on the United Nations was unfortunate and a sign of desperation by the UPND leadership.

“What is the point of finger-pointing everyone in these issues when all the stakeholders including the UPND were part of the electoral players during the elections,” he said.

Mr Mulenga advised politicians to have limits in the manner they handled their anger, adding international institutions should not be dragged on local issues.

“Politicians must not think that the way they relate to their counterparts locally might be the same even with the people from outside.

And this is the reason why UPND is pushing its lucky of getting into power very far. Anything to do with rigging elections is unfounded, but instead they are rigging themselves through halting their progress,” he said.
