Mulongoti biggest hypocrite-Kalumiana

- By NATION REPORTER

IT is hypocritical of People’s Party leader Mike Mulongoti to question President Edgar Lungu’s nationality now when he vigorously campaigned for him in the last elections, says former UPND Nalikwanda Member of Parliament Simasiku Kalumiana.

Mr. Kalumiana wondered what had made Mr. Mulongoti change his position knowing fully that one could not stand for any election in Zambia if he was a foreigner. He said the opposition leader has betrayed the trust of the Zam- bian people and has questioned his integrity.

In an interview yesterday, Mr. Kalumiana observed that Mr. Mulongoti had a hidden agenda for him to campaign for President Lungu which was to be given a job but that since it has not come to fruition he has become frustrated.

“It is hypocrisy of the worst kind for Mike Mulongoti to question President Lungu’s nationality now, when he campaigned for him. So what has changed?” he wondered.

Mr. Kalumiana described Mr. Mulongoti’s political party as a one man organisation and implored him to work and grow his party unlike always being critical of the government when it was trying everything possible to improve people’s living standards.

He said leaders should endeavour to be selfless by serving citizens diligently unlike looking at their own interests.

And Mr. Kalumiana has taken a swipe at the opposition for maligning republican Vice President Inonge Wina on assertions that she could support the impeachment motion.

He described Mrs. Wina as a leader of unquestionable integrity having worked with her while he served as MP.

Mr. Kalumiana said such insinuations were unfortunate and that only show how desperate the opposition have become.
