I won’t leave PF - Kalaba

-

By NATION REPORTER HARRY Kalaba, the Patriotic Front (PF) Bahati member of Parliament, has vowed not to vacate his seat despite several calls from within PF for him to resign.

And Mr Kalaba, who is former )oreign Affairs Minister, says customary land should be put on title so that the Zambian people can have access to it.

Speaking on a radio programme yesterday, Mr Kalaba said he was a serious man who knew what he was doing and fighting for.

“No weapon formed against me shall prosper because I have done nothing wrong. Is there anything that I have done to vacate the seat? Those that are mismanaging resources are not being asked to leave but those that are telling them to stop disadvantaging Zambians are the ones you want to leave.

“I will only resign at the right time, I don’t just do this for jokes because I am a very serious person,” said Mr Kalaba.

Meanwhile, the Bahati MP says it is unfair for Zambians not to have access to land when a huge chunk of it is available.

He reiterated that customary land should be put on title so that the Zambian people could have access to it.

He also asked Zambians to have a serious view of him, saying new and vibrant leadership would come under his reign.

Mr Kalaba has recently come under fire from his colleagues in the ruling party after his sudden resignation from Cabinet on grounds of alleged corruption he could not cope with.

PF Secretary General Davis Mwila and other ruling party leaders have on a number of occasions challenged the Bahati MP to leave the ruling party if it has become unattractive as he claimed.
