“President Lungu’s parents are both buried in the village” “I challenge all those who claim that President Lungu is a foreigner to come to Petauke so that they take us to Malawi to show us his village.”

“As a family tizakamupeleka ku court.” (He should not continue with lies. Let him face me so that I explain properly where Lungu comes from. His grandfather, father, grandmother. Let him. He should not repeat because as a family, we will take him to court

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu’s family in Petauke is shocked and now threatens to sue Mike Mulongoti fo the outrageous suggestion that Edgar Lungu is a foreigner.

And Aliyele Lungu, President Lungu’s young brother has threatened to take legal action against all those who claim that the Head of State is Malawian.

The family has demanded that Mr Mulongoti should show them the village in Malawi that he alleges to be the true origins of the President Lungu.

And President Lungu’s, Manesi Lungu, the only surviving young sister to his father, in her late 90s, wants to face Mulongoti so that he can tell her or show her where Mr Lungu comes from since he claimed to and blood.

In an exclusive interview with the Daily Nation at Mukwama village in Petauke, the visibly upset Ms Lungu, who cannot walk and is nearly blind, said she had asked the indunas in the village to escort her to Lusaka to face those saying rubbish things about her nephew. She said, both parents to the President were buried in the village and if Mr Mulongoti had knowledge of another village elsewhere, he should show the family.

And President Lungu’s half-brother Aliyele told the Daily Nation the allegations were outrageous and as a family they took great exception to the lies being spread. “President Lungu and I share the same father but different mothers and he is Nsenga from Petauke,” he said. “Kuno nikwamukwama. Namakolo kumo. Osati wenye yai kuno. “Asapitilize kukamba ati niwa ku Malawi. Ine amene nikamba pano ngati afuna akafacing’ane naine. Nizamuza bwino bwino pame achokela. Pamene bafuma bazimbuya bake, batete bake, Alekelethu. So asakabwezepo kunama boza uyo munthu. “As a family tizakamu-

peleka ku court.” (He should not continue with lies. Let him face me so that I explain properly where Lungu comes from. His grandfather, father, grandmother. Let him. He should not repeat because as a family, we will take him to court

"I challenge all those who claim that President Lungu is a foreigner to come to Petauke so that they take us to Malawi to show us his village."

He warned the detractors to stop it.

“Where were these people when President was being elected into office,” he asked.

He told the Daily Nation in an interview in Petauke yesterday that the people claiming that President Lungu was a foreigner were enemies of development.

And another relative, Mirriam, whose father was young brother of President’s father, told Daily Nation at Mukwama that she was prepared to be jailed if that would prove that President Lungu was not a foreigner but a Zambian and a subject of Senior Chief Kalindawalo.

“I am more than ready too to meet these people head-on so that they stop spreading lies about my young brother," she said.

Nezefuna kuti anduna bane aba, ndye babululu banga. anipelekezeko kumuntu wamene akamba vamene ivo. Banioneshe muntu wamene uyo.” (I wanted these same ndunas who are my relatives to escort me to go and face this person telling lies. They should show me.)

Earlier, a group of 10 village headmen told the Daily Nation that they were troubled by President Lungu accusers.

Their spokesperson headman Chenjelani (Yose Banda) said plans were under way to help the President’s family take legal action as that the matter was put to rest.

“We have been meeting for the past three weeks to plan the way forward,” said headman Chenjelani

He also revealed that it was Mr Mulongoti who was actually Malawian and challenged Peoples Party president Mike Mulongoti to deny that he was not related to Mr M J Mulongoti who worked for the then Radio South Africa (RSA).

“We are coming to Lusaka soon to stop this nonsense and let President Lungu carry on with his development agenda,” he said.
