Mukuni, Hamusonde told off

- By NATION REPORTER

THE political and tribal path which chiefs Mukuni and Hamusonde of Southern Province have taken is a sure recipe for bringing anarchy in the nation, traditional leaders in Petauke have warned.

A representative of the traditional leaders told the Daily Nation in an exclusive interview that the two chiefs are not competent to comment on affairs obtaining in Eastern Province and Petauke in particular.

Mr Grey Daka of Petauke, who worked for both Presidents Michael Sata and Edgar Chagwa Lungu said the political and tribal path which the two chiefs had taken was a sure recipe for bringing anarchy in the nation

He warned the chiefs to stop maligning President Lungu because they had no knowledge whatsoever about his upbringing to call him a Malawian.

“They should stop it or risk losing respect from the people. I am sure they have already lost a lot of respect because of their involvement in politics. They are now dividing the nation because of being tribal,” said Mr Daka

Mr Daka, who was with some village headmen said at the weekend that the two chiefs were misguided traditional leaders who should just join politics to appease their sponsors.

He said the two had no business in the affairs of Eastern Province because they have little or no knowledge of whatever was going on in the region.

And the people of Petauke have challenged opposition People’s Party leader Mike Mulongoti to travel to the district and show them who President Edgar Lungu’s parents are.

The Nsengas have threatened that should he fail to do so, they will follow him to Lusaka to resolve the matter once and for all using whatever means at their disposal.

Mr Daka said that all chiefs and headmen in the area were troubled and confused over the wild and false allegations against the Head of State.

“As people of Petauke, we demand that Mulongoti and his friend Fresher Siwale travel to Petauke and show us the true parents of President Lungu.
