I’m not like Mukuni, I support govt - Chief Chipepo

SENIOR Chief Chipepo of the Lenje speaking people in Central Provice has said unlike Senior Chief Mukuni of Southern Province, he supports the government of the day.

Speaking when Minister of Health Chitalu Chilufya paid a courtesy call on him during the inspection of health facilities at Punde in Kabwe rural, Senior Chief Chipepo said he has noted comments from Senior Chief Mukuni against the government but said he was not like him.

Senior Chief Mukuni of the Toka Leya people of Kazungula in Southern Province is known for his negative criticism of the Patriotic Front PF government while, publicly siding with the opposition United Party for National Developmen­t UPND.

He also recently joined the crusade questionin­g President Edgar Lungu's nationalit­y as alleged by People's Party leader Mike Mulongoti.

But Senior Chief Chipepo said he had nothing against the Patriotic Front government and would therefore, continue to work closely with the party in bringing developmen­t to the people of Zambia.

Meanwhile, Senior Chief Chipepo called on the Minister of Health to ensure that the health facilities being built in the area are given wholeheart­edly to the people so that they can appreciate that government means well and through which the PF can point at in line with their slogan of “Sonta Epo Wabomba.”

Meanwhile, Dr Chilufya assured the traditiona­l leader that government will upgrade most health facilities in the province while supplying adequate human resource.

Dr Chilufya commended Senior Chief Chipepo for making it known to the public that he had nothing against the government and his resolve to support President Lungu's administra­tion.
