BANKERS IN POWER TEST

- By SPORTS REPORTER

MTN/FAZ Super League runners up Zanaco will this afternoon seek to redeem themselves from two shocking defeats when they host “Powerful” Power Dynamos in a week ten fixture set for Sunset Stadium in Lusaka.

After recording their first loss last Saturday, the bankers have struggled, recording two consecutive defeats with the last loss being the 1-0 defeat to Lumwana Radiants last Wednesday at Lumwana grounds in North Western Province.

Coach Numba Mumamba should be worried as the 2017 Barclays Cup winners face their rivals from Kitwe.

Meanwhile, Power Dynamos will seek maximum points to bounce back from a shocking home defeat to Chris Kaunda’s police-sponsored Nkwazi last Wednesday.

At Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka, struggling Red Arrows host Green Eagles with the aim to redeem themselves from a poor run in the league.

The Honor Janza led “blunt” Arrows have only won two games from nine fixtures despite having been challenged to win this year’s league title by the ZAF commander Erick Chimesse.

Arrows face an in-form Green Eagles side that has managed to collect seven points from a possible nine out of the last three games played.

Eagles will target maximum three points away from home to maintain their perfect run in the league.

After last week’s setback in the 1-1 stalemate against Buildcon, Army sponsored Green Buffaloes will target victory when they host National Assembly who are chasing their fourth win of the season.

Assembly are seeking to bounce back from a 3-2 home defeat to Kabwe Warriors last Saturday at Woodlands stadium in Lusaka.

Meanwhile, Chris Kaunda’s Nkwazi who stunned Power Dynamos 1-0 at Arthur Davies Stadium last week Wednesday will host Nchanga Rangers while Nakambala Leopards play host to Lusaka Dynamos.

Tomorrow, league action returns with Napsa Stars hosting Lumwana Radiants at Sunset Stadium while Kitwe United will play Forest Rangers at Garden Park Stadium.

At the Godfrey Chitalu Stadium, Kabwe Youth Soccer Academy take on Buildcon in a lunch time kickoff while five-time champions Kabwe Warriors will host Nkana in the second fixture of the double header at the same venue.

The fixture involving New Monze Swallows and defending champions ZESCO United has been moved to a later date due to Zesco’s involvement in the CAF Champions league.
