City ‘harmony’ cheers FAZ

- By SPORTS REPORTER

THE Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) says it is pleased that City of Lusaka officials have reconciled to end the squabbles which had negatively affected the club in the recent past.

Speaking in an interview with Daily Nation Sports in Lusaka, FAZ vice president Ricks Mweemba said that the local soccer governing body was delighted that sanity had returned at Woodlands Stadium.

Mweemba challenged Yamoto to bury the past and work hard to show what they were capable of doing in the FAZ division one league.

“It give us great pleasure to see harmony at Woodlands Stadium. That is how it should be. Football is supposed to bring harmony and peace because it is a uniting factor so for us it gives us great joy that Yamoto is united and will unite the community. This is what football is supposed to do to bring peace where there is no peace, to bring people together regardless of race or tribe because it is a uniting factor,”

“Whatever has happened in the past let them forget about the past. We all make mistakes but what is important is to correct the mistakes and move forward. Let them be more united. The time lost quarrelling should be put behind to move forward as a team and show yourself that you are City Yamoto in the league,” Mweemba said.

“Yamoto” played their third game of the season in the 2018 FAZ division one zone one league in a 2-0 win against rivals Lusaka Tigers in a Lusaka derby played last Saturday at Woodlands Stadium.

After losing six points due to boardroom politics that saw the club fail to play their week three and four fixtures against Young Buffaloes and Katete United because of having two teams from the Justine Zulu led camp and the Simataa Simataa led camp, the two teams were merged together to form one club which walloped Tigers.
