MUSHINDANO TO BENEFIT FROM K259,000 LGEF
By NATION REPORTER PART of the K259,000 from the 20 percent of capital projects from the Local Government Equalisation Fund (LGEF) will be used towards developmental projects, says Mushindamo district Mulonga ward Councilor, David Katolo.
In an interview with the Daily Nation yesterday, Mr Katolo said among the developmental projects includes the grading of Luamala-Kabisapi road, rehabilitation of the Luamala Bridge and construction of a maternity wing at Kamisenga rural health centre.
And Mr Katolo has said Mushindamo town council has allocated an undisclosed funds under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to complete the constructing of a 1x3 classroom block at Luamala primary school in Mulonga ward.
Mr Katolo disclosed that the move follows the approval of the project by the CDF and ward development committees.
‘’Yes, I can confirm that as a ward we have received funds under CDF to complete the construction of the 1x3 classroom block at Luamala primary school,’’ Mr Katolo said.
He disclosed that the community had already contributed by making bricks but that the project stalled due to lack of funds.
‘’What is remaining is just the contractor moving on site and commence the works because as I‘am speaking, the council has already advertised the project,’’ he said.
