Kabimba tells off NDC

…It has no policy framework apart from insults

- By NATION REPORTER

THE National Democratic Congress (NDC) led by a comedian, Chishimba Kambwili has no policy framework but just insults and Bemba proverbs, Rainbow Party (RP) leader Wynter Kabimba has charged. Mr Kabimba said his party was ready to work with any political party that had an agenda of improving the welfare of Zambians but not with the NDC because of the pettiness within its leadership. Speaking when he was featured on Prime TV’s oxygen of democracy on Monday night, Mr Kabimba said the NDC had no agenda for the nation apart from its leaders insulting and using Bemba proverbs.

“The NDC has no policy framework but just insults and Bemba proverbs, and I have never seen where Bemba proverbs can develop the country,” Mr Kabimba said. He said RP is prepared go into an alliance with anybody or any political party fostering developmental issues that would better the lives of the people. “We as Rainbow Party are prepared to attend any forum of any political party that is going to discuss national issues that will change the welfare of the Zambian people. “The Rainbow Party will join any political party which is addressing the issues that is affecting the Zambian people and not a political party that is corrupt or whose leaders were themselves previously corrupt or they didn’t speak of corruption when they were in government,” Mr Kabimba said. He added, “But I will not attend Mr Chishimba Kambwili’s college of insults, I can’t be his student because insults are not national issues as far as I’m concerned. He (Kambwili) is a comedian and I have never heard any national issue from him.” And Mr Kabimba said his party disagreed with the policies of the UPND in which it claims Zambia’s economic can be successfully driven by foreign investors. ‘‘Copperbelt has so many foreign investors but it is not more developed than Southern or Muchinga provinces, So with UPND, we totally disagree with their policies. On the ruling Patriotic Front under President Lungu, Mr Kabimba said he has no personal problem with him but on how he governs. “I don’t have a personal problem with President Edgar Lungu, none at all, my problem with him is on governance issues. For example, I have a problem with a President who would keep a PS who claims to have a PHD from Oxford University even when it has been proven by the university in question that the man is lying, “I also have a problem with Edgar Lungu for keeping a senior official of PF in Southern Province who has been charged of sexually abusing his own biological daughter and the matter is in court but we have not heard any suspension or condemnation from the party, the man is walking with his head high,” Mr Kabimba said. Meanwhile, Mr Kabimba has called on the Electoral Commission of Zambia to disqualify any political party engaging in violence to send a warning to would-be offenders if the barbaric act of political violence is to be eradicated.
