CDF kick-starts Gwembe projects
A NUMBER of projects aimed at improving people’s livelihood have started in Gwembe constituency after receiving Constituency Development Funds (CDF), Member of Parliament Attractor Chisangano has said.
In an interview with the Daily Nation, Ms Chisangano said the community had embarked on a number of projects after receiving Constituency Development Funds (CDF).
She said the construction of one by three classroom blocks at three schools namely, Chaamwe, Nyangwe and Koma was among the projects that the community had embarked on.
Ms Chisangano also said the constituency needed eight towers to improve communication and that contractors were already on site working.
She said the Ministry of Health planned to build 10 health posts in the area and that it was currently finalising with the contractor hired to undertake the works throughout the constituency. “A number of developmental projects are taking place in Gwembe constituency and using the CDF we have started the construction of one by three class room blocks at three schools and we are also considering working on roads and bridges using the same money,” she said.
The lawmaker further said plans were also underway to work on feeder roads that were in a deplorable state in the constituency.
She said the Simulilika Road a project which started last year and would be finished this year.
