I AM NOT HUNGRY - WYNTER

- By NATION REPORTER

We are willing to partner with any political party out of conviction and not because I am hungry, says Rainbow Party General secretary Wynter Kabimba.

Mr Kabimba said his financial fortunes were not down as reported in some sections of the media.

Speaking when he featured on millennium radio yesterday, Mr Kabimba said he was ready to form an alliance with another political party in the interest of the rainbow party and Zambian citizens.

“I have always believed in hard work and survived in worse conditions than I am right now.

My wife and I run a school where we employ over 150 Tualified primary and secondary teachers so I am not hungry, how many Ministers can currently claim that,”he said.

Mr Kabimba said it was not true that he was siding with the Patriotic Front but was being objective.

He said he would never abandon the rainbow party.

Mr Kabimba further expressed disappointment with the UPND for making headlines that were fueling violence in the country.

“We get disappointed when people make headlines with remarks like “panga for Panga” these statements are encouraging violence, ”he said.

UPND vice-president Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba last week urged cadres to resort to “panga to panga” (machetes) to attack political opponents when provoked.

And Mr Kabimba said the Electoral commission of Zambia had called for a meeting for political parties to discuss various matters including the perceived violence but the UPND did not attend. He said it was important for political party leaders to talk to each other and it was therefore suprising and disappointing that the UPND had decided to decline to participate in such an important meeting.
