failed to offer checks and balances because of its poor leadership who she claimed were often very greedy. “I can assure you that UPND is no longer a factor, time has passed, maybe with the change of leadership it could be revamped or rebranded to be the opposition that a government would need. “The amount of hatred that is in UPND can choke you, the amount of negative energy could turn our Kafue Gorge turbines and we would not need water to run them, and this goes across the board. There is just this negative energy in UPND that affects everybody,” Cap. Lyambela said. She added, “UPND has just lost its salt because it is not able to offer proper checks and balances due to poor leadership.” She disclosed that she decided to join the ruling party after seeing that the party was delivering on the promises it made during campaigns adding that she wanted to be part of the delivering team. Capt Lyambela said PF might remain in power for the next 2 decades because it was delivering on the promises and that there was no credible opposition in Zambia presently. Capt Lyambela said the development taking place in Zambia was visible adding that it would be naive for any individual to claim that there was no development taking place. She further urged her former party mates to watch ZNBC’s programmes dubbed ‘My District’ screened on Sundays to appreciate what the government was doing. And Capt Lyambela said unlike UPND, PF had a national character adding that the ruling party embraced everybody from all corners of Zambia. She added that there was no intra-party democracy in the UPND apart from one individual (Hakainde Hichilema) who she noted appointed people in positions. “There was no intra-party democracy in the UPND. You cannot have a democratic party having appointees and if you don’t have a good smile or lick the boot, you may not have that appointment in UPND.
