CHILUBA’S FAMILY DESERVES BETTER - CLERGYMAN
THE family of second republican President Fredrick Chiluba deserves better and should be well looked after and any other past families of Presidents, says Christians against Poverty in Zambia, founder Gregory Chileshe.
Evangelist Chileshe said it was important to respect and honour past leaders if God was to bless Zambia.
He said the Chiluba family should be well looked after just like other presidential families such as the Mwanawasa’s, and Sata’s for their contribution to the country.
In an interview yesterday, the clergyman said people that need special consideration include freedom fighters and pensioners who have died without having received their dues.
“Dr. Chiluba’s family should be well looked after just like other families like the Mwanawasa’s, Michael Santa’s and any other family of our previous Presidents.
This includes freedom fighters and their relatives still alive. We need to learn to respect our leaders if the Lord is to bless our nation.
We can’t be throwing people into suffering like that,” he said.
He prodded the Chiluba family not to give up on the repossessed properties but seek legal ways of retrieving them.
Evangelist Chileshe said it was unfortunate that people who served the country diligently were still struggling to access their pensions even when in some cases the court has ruled in their favour.
He was responding to calls to restore Dr Chiluba’s repossessed properties to his family as he was acquitted of wrong doing by the court.
