Divine Mercy homes receives K180, 000
ZAMBIA Sri Lanka Friendship Association (ZSLFA) has donated K180, 000 for the construction of a kitchen and an ablution block at Divine Mercy Home (DMH) in Lusaka’s Chilenje township.
Speaking at a feeding, giving and ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the kitchen and the ablution block at DMH, in Lusaka yesterday, ZSLFA Chairperson Prasad Hettiaracichi said two events had been organised to raise funds for charitable projects in support of the vulnerable in Zambia.
He thanked ZANACO bank, Professional Insurance and Lanka Orex Leasing Company for sponsoring the two events.
Meanwhile, Superior Milling Company has assured Divine Mercy Home (DMH) of the firms’ continued support through its corporate social responsibility programme. Speaking at the same function, Superior Milling Company Managing Director Peter Cottan said his firm had been a long-time sponsor of DMH through the provision of mealie meal and that the support would continue in order to help improve the lives of the aged and vulnerable people. Mr Cottan, who is also Diπvine Mercy Home board chairperson, assured the DMH administration and board members that he would do everything possible to ensure that both local and foreign companies, continued to support DMH in carrying out its noble task of taking care of the aged and vulnerable in Society.
