FAZ president, Andrew Kamanga, says the local soccer governing body is not aware of national team head coach, Wedson Nyirenda's desire to join South African Premier league outfit Baroka FC. Nyirenda is reportedly on his way to Baroka FC to take over the coaching reigns at Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele. The Zambian tactician was on Wednesday spotted at the Baroka offices , though the club had remained tight lipped over his move. Baroka currently have no coach after sacking Kgoloko Thobejane in March this year and his interim successor MacDonald Makhubedu was also sacked as technical Director Doctor Khumalo took over who is expected to hand over power to the Chipolopol­o head coach, according to the South African media However FAZ president, Andrew Kamanga, says he has not received any official notificati­on indicating that Nyirenda had ditched the Chipolopol­o. "I can’t give a comprehens­ive statement because ,

haven’t received any official notificati­on indicating that he has joined Baroka FC. Asked on whether Nyirenda was still chipolopol­o head coach, Kamanga said: We have always indicated, for now there are no changes at the national team technical bench but if there will be any changes we will announce to the public. "Meanwhile FAZ has elevated Zanaco Football Club head coach Numba Mumamba who has joined the national team technical bench led by acting head coach Beston Cham- beshi. FAZ communicat­ions manager Desmond Katongo announced the developmen­t to daily Nation Sports stating that Mumamba will assist Chambeshi as the chipolopol­o prepares for the 2018 Council of Southern Africa Football Associatio­ns (COSAFA) senior championsh­ip which kicks off next Sunday in South Africa. Chambeshi and Mumamba will guide the team in the absence of Coach Wedson Nyirenda who has been linked with a move to Baroka FC.
