FIFTEEN boys from Anchor orphanage community school in Chibombo district were yesterday treated and counselled at Chikobo rural health centre after being sodomised in a shocking tale of abuse.
And a teacher from the same school was detained at Landless corner police post to help with investigation over the matter.
The matter came to the fore when one of the boys told his parents what was happening at school and the parents reported the matter to Landless Police.
Following the detention of the patron, the school took the pupils to the centre for counselling and investigation.
A source who sought anonymity, told the Daily Nation yesterday that the boys were taken to Chikobo rural health centre which is a one stop centre for treatment and counselling.
The medical staff at the Health Centre took hours to counsel the boys as they recounted their ordeal.
A source revealed that there were more abused pupils at the SDA’s Anchor school in Chibombo district urging the relevant authorities to probe the matter.
“Yes the 15 boys were sodomised and they are currently being treated and counselled by the medical personnel at Chikobo rural health centre right now,
“And a teacher from the same school who is a patron has been detained at Landless corner police post to help police with investigations,” a source said.
Police could not be reached by press time.
