No adoption for idle MPs - Wina
IDLE Members of Parliament will not be adopted to stand in 2021 on Patriotic Front ticket because they are derailing development, says Vice President Inonge Wina.
Ms Wina said Government would not tolerate non-performing MPs to continue wasting people’s time and derail development.
Ms Wina said this in Chilanga yesterday during a campaign rally at Mwembeshi ward to drum up support for PF candidate Maria Langa in the June 5 Parliamentary by-election.
She said to achieve its developmental agenda and the Seventh National Plan, Government would require hardworking and focused Parliamentarians.
“As a party in Government we owe it to the people to develop the country through hard work and fulfilment of promises made to the people, "Ms Wina said.
Ms Wina also assured the people of Chilanga of development following its declaration as a district.
The vice president said Government would construct schools, hospitals and a police station among other services to attract investments in the area.
And addressing people at Nakachenje ward, Ms Wina said the PF did not entertain tribalism and believed in unity of purpose.
She said for Government to achieve meaningful development it was important for all Zambians to work together and preserve the peace the country was enjoying.
Ms Wina also directed the district administration to come up with a developmental plan for the district and draw a budget for economic projects.
