- By NATION REPORTER

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has directed National Housing and infrastructure development Ronald Chitotela to ensure that the Lusaka’s L400 phase two project benefit the people of Chilanga constituency.

And the Head of State ordered Land and Natural Resources Minister Jean Kapata to expedite the process of legalizing the Namalombwe settlement by issuing the residents with title deeds.

Speaking when he addressed scores of Chilanga residents and PF supporters during a campaign rally to drum up support for PF candidate for Chilanga Parliamentary by-election Maria Langa yesterday at Namalombwe ward, President Lungu said the roads which are in bad state should be attended to urgently.

The President who drove on the same poor roads in Namalombwe told Mr Chitotela to ensure that the people of Chilanga constituency benefit from the Lusaka’s L400 phase two project.

“Kulila kwanu pankhani yama road kwamveka. Chitotela, make sure that the Lusaka’s L400 phase two project benefit the people of Chilanga constituency,” the President ordered Mr Chitotela.

And in response, Mr Chitotela said he will ensure that Chilanga constituency will benefit 20 kilometres of roads from Lusaka’s L400 phase two project adding that he would actually start with Chilanga.

The President also directed Ms Kapata to expedite the process of issuing title deeds for the people of Chilanga’s Namalombwe area.

President Lungu said it was not fair that indigenous Zambians were not given title deeds in the same area where the Chinese nationals were offered title deeds without delay.

Meanwhile, President Lungu urged the people of Chilanga constituency to vote for Maria Langa if they are to realise real development.

And speaking earlier, Health Minister Chitalu Chilufya disclosed that government will start building a clinic and a school in the area this month.

Dr Chilufya also promised to give the people of Chilanga an ambulance within this month.
