Silwizya ward institutes weekly clean-ups

By NATION REPORTER WE have resolved to conduct a cleaning exercise for two hours every Tuesday morning before the start of business at Northmead trading area and every Saturday at Matebeto market in Thornpark, Silwizya ward 13 Councilor, Tarcisious Ndolesha has said.

In an interview with the Daily Nation, Mr Ndolesha explained that the decision was arrived at in line with the re-launched Keep Zambia Clean, Green and Healthy.

Mr Ndolesha said the exercise will soon be rolled out to residentia­l areas within the ward to ensure that sanity was brought back in the community.

The civic leader explained that it was everyone’s responsibi­lity to ensure that the environmen­t they lived in was clean all the time adding that having regular community clean ups will help change the mindset of the people in market places and residentia­l areas.

“As a ward we have resolved not only to take part in the Make Zambia Clean, Green and Healthy Campaign but also move on in our ward on the same concept.

“We will continue with the cleaning exercise which will be conducted for two hours every Tuesday morning before the start of business at Northmead Trading Area and every Saturday at Matebeto market in Thornpark,” the civic leader said.

Mr Ndolesha urged all the residents in his ward to join in the exercise by cleaning and maintainin­g their surroundin­gs all the time saying "Together we shall develop and make Silwizya ward 13 great again".
