Lungu rejects secret night meeting

-

By NATION REPORTER PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has revealed that an opposition political leader has through Vernon Mwaanga asked to meet him at State House at night for a one on one talk. The President however said he refused to meet a known political leader at night because he was not a witch.

The Head of State said this yesterday at Chilanga’s Namalombwe ward during a cam- paign rally to drum up for PF candidate for Chilanga Parliamentary by-election Maria Langa.

He said it was strange that an opposition leader who has refused to attend the national day of prayers and reconciliation wanted to meet him at night.

President Lungu disclosed that the same opposition political leader wants to use a short cut to get in power.

“Niulule? Niulule? Uja winangu uja, anayenda kuuza ba Vernon Mwanga akuti nifuna nikaonane na Lungu usiku, ine nati iyayi kuonana usiku monga nine fwiti nakana! There is an opposition leader who told the nation before and I won’t mention the name, he said I want to meet Edgar Lungu we do the Kenya thing,” President Lungu said.

President Lungu said he was ready to meet any political leader provided they come out in the open and during day light with a known agenda.

“If they want us to talk, let all the opposition political leaders come together with the church, ZCID and we will together agree how to run this country, because what they want is to get to power using the back door,” President Lungu said.

President Lungu said he was ready for an inclusive dialogue and not a one on one night meeting.
