‘FOCUS ON FUTURE ENGAGEMENTS’
By SPORTS REPORTER A SOCCER analyst Henry Chama says the Chipolopolo boys should put behind their loss against Zimbabwe in the final match of the COSAFA Castle Cup Senior Challenge tournament and focus on future engagements. Chama said the Chipolopolo should not feel low and lose concentration on forthcoming international fixtures because the team has a mammoth task to qualify to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
He said the team has what it takes to qualify to the annual continental showpiece because experienced and active players who can make a difference are available.
The football analyst said in an interview in Kitwe that the Chipolopolo should not be discourage by armchair critics who were trying to write them off.
Chama said the COSAFA Castle Senior Challenge tournament was a warm up encounter for the Chipolopolo boys as they were preparing to face the Namibians in September this year during the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game.
He said the Chipolopolo was a still formidable side in the Southern African region despite losing 4-2 to the Zimbabweans at the weekend in South Africa. Chama said the team should make sure that they qualify to the Africa Cup of Nations next year as a present for the faithful Chipolopolo fans.
He said the current squad has the capacity to perform better and raise the country's hopes of lifting the 2019 Africa Cup for the second time.
