KATOMBORA MP CRIES FOR CDF
..to complete stalled projects
UPND Katombora Member of Parliament Derrick Livune has implored the government to consider releasing the remaining half of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) so that some of the stalled projects can be completed. Mr. Livune has observed that so far, the constituency only re- ceived K700, 000 out of the total amount of K1,400, 000 which it is supposed to be given.
He charged that the amount which was released to the constituency has since been disbursed to finance pro ects which the council approved during a full council meeting last year.
Mr. Livune told the Daily Nation that he will not sit idle but that he will continue pushing for the 2018 CDF so that it can be released as soon as possible.
The Katombola lawmaker has also expressed concern that during the years ending 2015 and 2016, his constituency did not receive its share of the CDF.
“We didn’t receive any CDF funds in 2015 and 2016. In 2017 we only received K700, 000 which is half the amount to be used on four pro ects which were approved,” he said.
Mr. Livune said that among the pro ects that were approved is constructions of one by three (1X 3) class room block at Katondo Primary school in Kauwe ward in Chief Nyawa chiefdoms, construction of one health post at Makoli in Katapazi ward of Chief Mukuni and construction of one teacher’s house at Namapande Primary School in Sikaunzwe ward of Chief Sekute.
He added that the other pro ect is the construction of a teacher's house at Kanchele Primary school in Kanchele ward of Chief Musokotwane.
