Multichoice takes too long to approve application for service

- Editor, ELEMIYA PHIRI Lusaka

MULTICHOICE Zambia Limited is one of the service providers operating in Zambia.

The company offers GOTV subscription service and also DSTV subscription service to its clients. Apart from offering the above mentioned services, the company sells GOTV and DSTV decoders to the potential customers. The company operates in many countries in the continent of Africa.

Due to high demand for the Multichoice services and products, the company engages some companies and individuals to operate as agents for Multichoice. For a business entity or an individual to be engaged as an agent, there is need to apply to the service provider.

However, the applicant is required to fill in the application forms and attach all the necessary documents such as the company registration certificate, tax clearance certificate, company profile, articles of association to mention but a few.

When all the documents are submitted to Multichoice, they are approved and the agent start operating after the firm provides the necessary training to the people who will be in charge. But alas, the company takes too long to approve the application which is not right.

If the above is not bad enough, MTN Zambia also takes too long to approve the application. These two institutions should emulate Airtel Zambia and Zoona Mobile Money Service which approve applications of companies and individuals within a short period of time.

I know of a company which applied to be an agent for Multichoice in January this year but up to now the approval has not been done. This type of work culture must be changed.

If the company is handicapped in terms of manpower, the company should consider employing more people who can execute the duties diligently.
