‘We’re not leaving any stone unturned’

- By NATION REPORTER

WE are not leaving any stone unturned because we are eager to ensuring that we scoop all the three wards in forthcoming local government by elections, says PF North Western province chairperson Jackson Kungo

Mr Kungo told the Daily Nation in Solwezi yesterday that the party was ready for the elections.

‘’Out of the three that the Electoral Commission of Zambia has set dates for both nominations and polling day, I can safely say that as a party we are very much ready to go to the polls,’’ Mr Kungo said.

And Mr Kungo disclosed that the PF has received overwhelmed response in terms of people applying to be adopted as candidates in all the three wards.

He said in Kanongesha, about six people have applied while in Kangwena and Kanyama five people have respectively applied to be adopted.

‘’Previously, we used to have challenges when it comes to adoptions. But now I can tell you that we have received overwhelming response,’’ he said.

He appealed to members of the party to continue mobilising the grassroots so that the party can continue growing.

The three local government seats fell vacant following the resignation and defection of the former councilors from the United Party for National Development (UPND) to the Patriotic Front (PF)

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has since set Tuesday 26th June as date for nominations for all the three seats namely Kangwena in Mushindamo, Kanyama and Kanongesha in Mwinilunga district respectively and 26th July as poll day.
