I will campaign for Miles, pledges contender

, :,LL vigorously campaign for Miles 6ampa to ensure the Patriotic )ront retains the Lusaka mayoral seat, says <osi Miti.

Mr Miti who was one of the 31 applicants for the mayoral seat under the Patriotic )ront P) said it was important to look at the bigger picture which was the ruling party.

He said the PF through the Central Committee has shown leadership and democratic tenets by the selection of Mr Sampa who is former Matero Member of Parliament.

In an interview yesterday, Mr Miti who is a PF founder member said the ruling party has continued pioneering democratic tenets unlike some political parties who had imposed candidates against the wishes of the grassroots.

“I and my supporters as well as people who encouraged me to apply for the mayoral seat pledge to support the candidatur­e of Mr Sampa on the basis that united we stand, divided we fall.

,t is important to look at the bigger picture which is the P). , am even available to campaign for the former Matero Member of Parliament,” he said.

+e said that it was probably not yet his time to be picked by the PF and called upon the other 30 candidates who were jostling for the position to instead support Mr Sampa.
