THE Patriotic Front in Mushindamo is confident of scooping the Kangwena Ward local government by-election slated for July 26.
PF campaign manager Martin Mbaya told the Daily Nation in an interview that its aspiring councillor, Steven Kasono would win the seat because he was an indigenous resident who knew the challenges faced by the locals. “As PF, we will not leave any stone unturned but campaign hard and make sure that our candidate wins the seat on July 26,’’ Mr Mbaya said.
The Kangwena ward seat fell vacant following the resignation of the UPND councillor Mr Geofrey Safali who joined the PF.
Mr Mbaya said the party will ensure that it conducts issuedbased campaigns to explain to the locals the tangible developments they would benefit if they voted for Mr Kasono.
He said the ruling party was being appreciated for many developmental projects it was implementing and urged Kangwena residents to vote for Mr Kasono.
And Mr Kasono said his priority once elected as councillor will be to ensure that he lobbies for funds to expand the Kangwena health post.
He said the population has drastically increased hence the need to expand the health facility.
