LIFWEKELO SLAMS PETTY HH
HAKAINDE Hichilema has resorted to politicising everything on baseless grounds for his political expediency and his misplaced insinuation that President Edgar Lungu and PF are happy with the resignation of the Auditor General just shows how petty the man has become, former UPND deputy spokesperson Edwin Lifwekelo has charged.
In an interview with the Daily Nation yesterday, Mr Lifwekelo who is a PF senior member said Mr Hichilema was desperate, bitter and directionless such that he would jump on any negative development to gain political mileage.
Mr Lifwekelo was reacting to sentiments by the UPND leader who claimed that President Lungu and PF were happy with the resignation of the Auditor General, Ron Mwambwa.
Mr Hichilema claimed that Mr Mwambwa’s resignation was a confirmation of the high levels of corruption in government which is now threatening even oversight institutions.
But Mr Lifwekelo lashed out at Mr Hichilema describing him as a desperate, bitter and directionless man whoand jumps at every development for cheap political mileage.
Mr Lifwekelo said he was finding it difficult to understand Mr Hichilema because he (Mr Hichilema) seemed to be more interested in gaining political mileage in everything that happens.
“He just wants to malign the President but Zambians now know that Hakainde Hichilema usually thrives on confusion. His survival on politics is based on confusion, baseless and trivial issues that do not add value to Zambians.
“HH has become so desperate that he jumps at any unfortunate incidence for his political expediency. He actually is a publicity seeker who wants to use the Auditor General’s resignation for cheap political mileage,” Mr Lifwekelo said.
And Mr Lifwekelo said there was nothing amiss about the resignation of Mr Mwambwa as acting Auditor General as it was normal for people to resign in any organisation.
Ron Mwambwa resigned from his position last week in order to pursue personal endeavours in Liberia where he will be setting up audit systems.
Mr Mwambwa has since thanked President Lungu and government for the support rendered to him during his tenure of office.
