GANG-RAPE VICTIM HAD NO VISIBLE MARKS - COP
By NATION REPORTER
A POLICE Officer has narrated in a Kitwe Magistrate Court that she could not see any physical signs on the 15-year-old who was allegedly gang-raped by six members of the Tokota Boys gang.
Detective Rita Nankamba told the court yesterday that the victim initially told her that she was 25 years old and that she had been gang-raped.
This is in a matter involving Richard Siame 21 of Chamboli, Teddy Chilufya 20 of Wusakile and a 14-year-old boy of Wusakile township who are charged with three counts of rape.
They appeared before Chief Resident Magistrate Yvonne Nalomba for continuation of trial.
Ms Nankamba said she checked the victim before taking her to the hospital but could not see any physical signs of rape despite the victim complaining of pain in her private parts.
She said the victim was checked by a medical doctor and blood samples taken which she personally took to the laboratory for tests.
Ms Nankamba narrated that in May this year, she received a report that the people who had raped the girl had been apprehended. She quickly went back to the hospital laboratory to check for test results. Naatloemba
said since adjourned the matter to August, 3 this year for continuation of trial.
