200 UPND West members defect to PF
Western Province PF chairperson Charles Mututwa said people in the province had realised the importance of developmental projects that President Edgar Lungu had initiated in all the districts in the region. Receiving the defectors in Looma ward in Nalikwanda Constituency where he was drumming up support for PF candidate Libamba Chinyemba, Mr Mututwa said the province was no longer a strong hold for the opposition UPND. Mr. Mututwa said Government was working tirelessly to ensure that the lives of many are improved in the province. He has implored the people of Looma ward in Nalikwanda constituency to vote for the PF candidate who is contesting as councillor during the local government election slated for July 26, this year. And speaking on behalf all the defectors, UPND Mulambwa ward chairperson Chisoke Yona said many people were joining the ruling party because of the developmental project that were visible in the province. Mr Yona said the province was no longer one of the poorest regions in the country as Government was working hard to bring the much needed development closer to the people. And Zambian DNA spokesperson Supuki Mulemwa has called on all opposition UPND Members of Parliament to work with the government of the day to foster development in various constituencies in Western Province. Mr Mulemwa said this when he encouraged electorates in Looma ward to vote for the PF candidate contesting Libamba Chinyemba who is contesting the position of councillor. He said opposition MPs in the province could do anything to bring development to the people, the only alternative was to work with the government of the day. The UPND MPs, he stated, were just in parliament working for their gratuity at the end of five years while people who voted for them will remain wallowing in poverty.
