Sampa outlines his action plans for Lusaka
PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Mayoral candidate Miles Sampa yesterday signed a social contract committing himself to delivering on his campaign promises once elected into office.
Speaking at a press briefing in Lusaka, Mr Sampa highlighted several points of action to change the face of Lusaka for the next three years he would hold office from 2018-2021.
He would maintain his 7-point action plan for the first 100 days, including to start removing historical garbage heaps across the city and begin to issue title deeds to former Lusaka council employees.
Mr Sampa also committed himself to a number of other action plans which he was hopeful would be achieved by the year 2021.
These included generally sealing of all council revenue leakages, introduction of electronic registration of marketeers and the payment of market levies among others.
He also pledged to introduce computerized residential addresses and renaming of some roads still bearing colonial names.
He also declared he would start the process of transforming the Chunga dump site in Matero constituency into a recycling and power generation venture for the local authority. Mr Sampa also committed to bring about orderly operations of markets and bus stations, commencement of the process of planting trees to keep Lusaka clean, green and healthy and would also consider a feasibility study on an efficient train system.
