State commissions K330, 000 theatre
has commissioned state of the art a operating K330,000 theatre Hospital at in Manyinga. Loloma Mission The project was funded by government through the Constituency Development funds (CDF) and the Christian Missions of Many Lands (CMML) Church. Manyinga District Commissioner, Queen Manela, who officially opened the facility, said the theatre will provide efficient surgical services and improved health care to the people of Manyinga and surrounding areas.
Ms Manela said government remains committed in improving quality health care provision.
“Our commitment is proven by our impressive track record of good governance and economic growth, which also facilitated growth and development in the health sector,” she said.
She said partnership with key stakeholders like the church were key in ensuring national and community development. Meanwhile, hospital board chairperson, Timothy Beer, commended the government for creating an enabling environment and partnering with the mission board towards improvement of health care provision in the district. Mr Beer said the partnering of the mission with Government in constructing the theatre will not only save lives physically but also provide spiritual support through preaching the Word of God to the patients and community members. He disclosed that most of the equipment were procured overseas to meet modern health provision requirements.
And hospital director, Charles Kalwiji said since its construction in 1958 the mission hospital has since conducted surgical services in a small operating room with few facilities. “And in most cases patients are referred to Chitokoloki Mission Hospital in Zambezi which has more specialised equipment and services,” he said.
