<75+ calls for comWletion of stalled WroQects
UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) in Southern Province has demanded for the completion of all government proj ects that have stalled in the province.
The UPND singled out projects such as the International bus terminus, a modern market and the Maramba Stadium all in Livingstone.
Provincial secretary Winnerson Ng'uni said recently in Livingstone that the UPND expected the projects to be completed before the 2021 general elections.
“Here in Livingstone, one does not need to go far to know that PF has failed...look at the state of Zimbabwe market, Maramba stadium and the bus terminus,”
"These are projects that are not completed since being commenced in 2013; it is shame because the actual cost of these buildings in 2013 has now more than trebled. The question is who will pay for their completion? ” asked Mr. Ng'uni.
He said that the projects should be completed now and should not be used as a campaign tool in 2021.
Mr Ng’uni said that the same should be extended to all stalled infrastructure projects in the province.
But reacting to the UPND's demand, PF Livingstone constituency chairman Elias Mwila said that it was not up to the opposition political party to decide which projects should be completed.
Mr. Mwila said that the PF government was determined to take development to all parts of Zambia.
He appealedto the UPND to be patient with the PF government.
