MINISTER TIPS ELECTORATE
…don’t gamble, vote PF
THE electorate in Kangwena ward in Mushindano district have been told not to gamble with their votes but vote for the Patriotic Front candidate Steven Kasono in this week’s local government by elections.
Foreign Affairs minister Joe Malanji told the people in Kangwena that they an opportunity to start afresh by voting for the PF candidate so that development can trickle down in the area.
He said the people of Kangwanda should not be cheated that the area will developed by voting for an opposition councillor.
’And that is why the former councillor resigned and abandoned the UPND programs because he did not want to waste your time anymore as he was not allowed to lobby for development,’’ he said.
Mr Malanji was speaking recently during a public rally at Kangwena secondary school grounds to drum up support for the PF candidate in the July 26 local government by elections in Mushindamo district.
The minister said voting for the PF candidate would make it easy for the councillor to approach the office of the provincial minister, permanent secretary and district commissioner and present the concerns and challenges the people are facing in the area.
He said it was clear to see that the UPND member of parliament and the council chairperson have failed to represent the people of Mushindamo effectively.
’I appeal to you not to just cry for development but to do your part by voting for the right person and that right person is Steven Kasono,’’ he said.
And North Western province minister Nathaniel Mubukwanu noted that the opposition in the country are not constructive in their campaigns.
Earlier , Mufulira central member of Parliament Evans Chibanda said it was unfortunate that some selfish politicians wanted to divide the country on tribal lines.
