Lusambo on late comers

Editor,

I know this is not sustainable, and I also know that President Chiluba once did it. But at least this is a stern reminder to the public of why service is so poor and slow at most state institutions. What remains is how do we as Zambians solve this problem?” N. Wanu.

Of Koffi Olomide

Editor,

Jean Mandela, a Lusaka free-lance photojournalist, was clobbered by Olomide some six years ago. This Olomide is a multi-talented animal - …singing, dancing, kickboxing and instrumentalist. Ndanje Khakis.

Revisiting maize price

Editor,

This is good news. Abash millers who want to exploit farmers by using underhand methods to influence decisions on the maize floor price. Farmers should not get anything less than K1.5 per kg even K2 per kg which is fair when you consider the hell farmers go through to grow this maize. TTV.

Keep it up Lusambo!

Editor,

You made my day. Lusambo is on a rampage dealing with late comers…reminds me of my primary school days. The headmaster waiting at the gate for late comers. Now civil servants are alert. Anonymous.

Laura Miti claims

Editor,

Laura Miti claims that seven Civil Society Organisations have evidence of vote buying by the ruling Patriotic Front ahead of tomorrow’s mayoral and council chairpersons byelections. I think that UPND has just lost credibility hence using compromised useless NGO’s to speak for them. But the majority of Zambians cannot just support a party led by a despotic leader using outdated 2006 strategies and always accusing others for his own failures. I challenge Miti and the seven CSOs to take this evidence to police or indeed the Anti-Corruption Commission instead of just ranting as she normally does. Harry.

Careful on high maize price cries

Editor,

It is all easy to cry for high maize price, but do people realise that it will also push up mealie meal prices? If millers are going to buy this dear maize, they will definitely push this extra cost to us consumers. Just my thought. Joseph Chidulu.

EU funding UPND sad

Editor,

I hear one of the Scandinavian embassies was used by EU to deliver campaign money to UPND. How sad. It is UPND which is promising the West the galaxies which is forcing these people to fund it in the hope of reaping back heavily in the unlikely event of UPND forming Government. Anyway God has other ideas. UPND is going nowhere. Mark my words. Ezekiel M Chiti.

Family matters

Editor,

Why would a family member attack the President in the manner that Mr Edgar Lungu was attacked in a tabloid? For sure there are opposition within the family. No one would choose to start maligning their family member and making wild allegations as the unknown uncle did. In any case, does being President mean one has to fund all funerals? I beg to differ. Jen Chilekwa, Petauke.
