TV personality and marketer Noel Mwanza says as role models, local celebrities must be willing give back to charity and be in the forefront to spearhead charitable events.

Speaking in an interview after he made a donation to A Cry of An Orphan Community School in Kanyama, Mwanza now working for Diamond TV, said with the huge following and influence celebrities like TV personalities, musicians and models have in society, they can be a good medium to lobby for support for various charity events and institutions. “I think we should be in the forefront to help the vulnerable. It is important to give back especially to the needy most of whom look up to us,” said Mwanza who is also a motivational speaker and social media activist.

“Charity work has been an activity that I have passionately engaged myself in for a long time now and this is mainly inspired by Mr Leo Chakufyali who is very dedicated to it. I also get inspiration from various musicians and artistes like J-Rox, B-Flow, Roberto and a few others I have seen. My point however, is that we need to have more celebrities involved in charity work. We need to be willing to give back.” Mwanza’s donation to the community school came mainly from his salary and he hopes to find means to create a networking system with various celebrities that will be helping a number of vulnerable institutions.
