THE UPND needs leadership change if it is to remain relevant to the country's political environment, the PF in Southern Province has advised

Provincial youth chairman Obbie Mweemba says this was evidenced by the opposition party’s systematic loss in various byelections in the country.

Mr. Mweemba said that as it stands, the PF was the only party in the country which was attractive.

He said in an interview that the ruling party was the party of choice in Zambia adding that the outcome of the by-elections speaks for itself.

"I want to congratulate our PF crew that was on the ground campaigning including myself. We have done it again and I want to state that the outcome of the just ended by-elections is a sign of confidence which the people of Zambia have in the PF,”

"The people of Lusaka, Chilanga and elsewhere where we had byelections have spoken for themselves. People have realized that the only party that can take development to their areas is PF not UPND," said Mr. Mweemba.

But the UPND in the province claimed that it was actuality the ruling party that had lost grip hence the reason why people shunned the elections resulting in apathy.

UPND provincial deputy spokesperson Neto Halwabala noted that the people of Zambia were not interested in voting because of the sufferings they are going through under the PF.
