REA to light up Petauke homes
OVER 100 households in Sandwe chiefdom of Petauke will be electrified soon under the Rural Electrification Authority (REA) programme, says Msanzala Member of Parliament Peter Daka.
Mr Daka said Comuga Engineering, the company engaged by REA in the programme had already cleared over 50 percent of the bush to allow for the erection of electricity poles.
Comuga Engineering senior linesman Humphrey Musonda said the project was expected to be completed and handed over to REA in three months’ time.
He said over 126 household were expected to be electrified once the works were completed.
And Mr Daka said that the recently created Lusangazi district by President Edgar Lungu had started showing signs of positive development.
He said Lusangazi had been earmarked for massive development projects among them the construction and tarring of Ukwimi-Sandwe Road which connected to Malama chiefdom in Mambwe district, as well as the electrification of households.
The MP, who recently visited the projects, said the PF government deserved support and a pat on the back because of the development it was closely bringing to the people.
He said the projects in the constituency had created many job opportunities for the people in the area.
He appealed to the people of his constituency to continue supporting the PF government for the area to keep receiving development.
Mr Daka said Government had already approved millions of Kwacha for development projects in the new districts.
