RITUAL VICTIM CRIES
He explained that the trio hit him with bricks on the head before dragging him into the drainage where they started cutting his manhood but that he was only saved by a “Good Samaritan” who appeared on the scene and repelled them.
He said after the man stopped his vehicle and came out, his assailants ran away, leaving him bleeding profusely from a deep cut he sustained on his manhood and on the head.
“They hit me with pan bricks and knocked me down. They then dragged and pushed me into the nearby drainage where it was darker and tried to chop off my manhood. But their mission was thwarted by a Good 6amaritan who flashed the lights of his vehicle in the direction of the drainage they had dragged me into. “This man picked me and took me to the police where the case was reported and I was later hospitalised. That is how I survived. My attackers are not strangers in the area. They are people who are well-known. Police are not doing anything because they hang out with the same businessman who sent them,” Mr. Mubanga complained. When contacted for a comment, Chipili District Commissioner Willy Mumba said he was out of the district when the incident happened.
Mr Mumba however said that he was aware about the suspected ritual killing attempt and the fracas that followed but said could not divulge much information as he was yet to get to the bottom of the matter since he was not yet in Chipili.
Luapula Province police commissioner Elias Chushi could not be reached for a comment.
