UNRULY YOUTHS IN KAZUNGULA ATTACK CIVIL SERVANTS

-

By NATION REPORTER A GROUP of disgruntled youths claiming to be members of the ruling PF in Kazungula have reportedly gone on a rampage discrediting civil servants for allegedly blocking them from securing jobs at Kazungula Bridge project.

The group is accusing civil servants of blocking them from being employed by Daewoo Engineering and Construction, the contractor working on the bridge.

The youths were claiming that most of the workers employed at the bridge were from other regions and outside Kazungula.

The targeted officers were those working for the immigration department and Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) especially those perceived to be non-Southerners.

According to information obtained by the Daily Nation in Kazungula, the youths were alleged to be working with some senior government officials in the district.

Further, the group has called for the removal of civil servants from the two institutions from the district.

Last week, the same group appeared on one of the television stations and in a daily publication airing out their views in relation to their grievances.

But impeccable sources told the Daily Nation that the youths were being used to push up someone else's agenda.

Sources at the bridge said that the civil servants being accused had nothing to do with the project.
