Mfuwe endorses Lungu for 2021
By NATION REPORTER RULING Patriotic Front (PF) official in Mfuwe constituency has endorsed President Edgar Lungu as the party's sole candidate in the 2021 Presidential polls.
The official who sought anonymity, said that President Lungu was eager to sincerely serve the people of Zambia.
He said the massive development witnessed across the country attested to the President's zeal to transform the country.
He said there was need for President Lungu to be in office beyond 2021 in order to take development to all corners of the country.
He pointed out that the economy, the Kwacha and inflation, among others, had stabilised under President Lungu's leadership.
He said there was need to give President Lungu enough time so that all capital projects under way could be completed.
He warned that capital projects under construction were always negatively affected whenever there was a new President in office.
He said that Mfuwe constituency had endorsed the candidature of President Lungu on the ruling party ticket for 2021 Presidential election so that development could continue.
“When someone has performed exceptionally well, credit should be given. President Lungu has managed to stabilise the turbulences that had hit our economy. He has managed to take over from where former President Michael Sata left.
“As a constituency we have decided that President Lungu needs to be given a mandate beyond 2021 if the development we are witnessing is to continue,” he said.
And the official said that Mfuwe, like all constituencies in Zambia, had received a fair share of development under the current leadership.
He pointed out that the Nabwalya-Mpika road under construction would boost tourism in the area.
He said that the new road would link the constituency to the northern part of the country and which would open up for more investments.
He said that the capital projects under construction in the constituency would also ensure job creation for the youth.
The official emphasised the need for President Lungu to be given a mandate beyond 2021 so that he could effectively roll out the ruling party and government's development agenda.
