House of Prayer construction starts
THE Construction of the much awaited National House of Prayer (NHoP) has started and the Zambia National Service (ZNS) has been engaged as the main contractor.
Speaking at a press briefing yesterday, NHoP chairman %ishop 'r Joshua %anda explained that there was an interest from other service organisations that wanted to participate in the project.
Bishop Banda praised the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure who are the engineering and construction partners for doing the technical work and guiding the processes adding that NHoP had placed a container on site for those who wished to donate materials in kind. And the NHoP fundraising chairperson, David Nama disclosed about K600, 000 had been raised through fundraising ventures in the past two years and that more than K5million was needed to complete the project. Bishop Banda also disclosed that this year’s third official commemoration for National Day of Prayers and fasting will be held under the Theme “Repentance and reconciliation: promoting unity of purpose, love and national harmony, and through the bond of peace.’’ The Cleric further explained that all Christians should gather in their respective worship locations throughout the country, to fast and pray from 6am -6pm for the nation, adding that all those without churches were encouraged to join those with buildings.
He also disclosed that from September 9 to October 18, a 40 day period of prayer and fasting had been declared and community mobilisation will commence in the local areas.
