M fish-farming project set for Luapula

ZNBS to empower rural communitie­s By BUSINESS REPORTER SUNSHARE Investment­s Limited will invest $15 million in fish farming and fish processing in Luapula province.

According to Luapula Province Minister 1icNson Chilangwa, the feasibilit­y studies are expected to start this month.

Once implemente­d, the proMect would produce 10,000 tonnes of fish per year at full production.

³Sunshare ,nvestments Limited, a Chinese firm has earmarNed the investment of

15 million in a fish farming and fish processing proMect,´ Mr Chilangwa announced in a statement.

Mr Chilangwa said following the successful hosting of the Luapula (xpo and ,nvestment Conference, Sunshare has Moined the over 0 local and internatio­nal companies who have expressed interest in setting up businesses in Luapula Province. +e said the proMect would create 250 Mobs for the people of Luapula Province.

The minister said Sunshare would also offer logistical and technical support to small scale fish farmers.

Sunshare was establishe­d in Zambia in 2009 with its business scope covering high

end property developmen­t, real estate, engineerin­g and constructi­on, manufactur­e of building materials, agricultur­e and fish farming.
