THE Church will continue complementing Government efforts in improving the lives of vulnerable citizens through providing health care services, says Seventh - Day Adventist (SDA) Church Health Committee chairperson Olivia Namangolwa.

In an interview on Sunday, Ms Namangolwa said the church was delighted to provide free health services to the vulnerable people in Kafue.

“The aim of the event was to reach out to the community through providing free health services to the needy residents of Zambia Compound in Kafue town. We have attended to over 140 residents with different health complications”, Ms Namangolwa explained.

Meanwhile, Lusaka Conference Health Director Charity Ngondo encouraged other churches to hold health expos where underprivileged citizens may be helped.

“I wish to thank Kafue Mission District youths in conjunction with the Health Department for rendering selÀess acts of charity at Kalukungu Market in Kafue town. Such voluntary works should be encouraged”, she said.

Ms. Ngondo said the SDA church members in Lusaka Province were encouraged to run crusades alongside health expos.

And district youth leader Joseph Mutuli urged young people to continue participating in outreach programs adding that there were many people out there who needed spiritual and physical healing.

The health expo was conducted alongside the open air crusade by young people in conjunction with the health department at Kalukungu market.
