South PF backs Sensio Banda adoption
By NATION REPORTER THE Patriotic Front (PF) in Southern Province has exp ressed optimism that Sensio Banda, who has been adopted for the Kasenengwa Parliamentary by- election, will defend the seat for the ruling party. PF Southern Province information and publicity secretary Trymore Mwenda predicted that Mr Banda would score a landslide victory in the by-election set for September 6. He said the PF™s adoption of right candidates in various elective positions would ensure that the party remained in power beyond 2021. fiThe adoption of right candidates who have the support of the people on the ground is critical to fostering inclusive development and good governance because electorates only enjoy working with someone they have confidence in and the atriotic Front is responding well to this demand,fl he said. Mr Mweenda said that the party in Southern Province was expressing its sincere gratitude to the Government under President Lungu for its commitment to improve agriculture in the country. He said as an agricultural hub, Southern Province would benefit greatly from progressive agricultural policies Government had put in place. It was also encouraging that overnment had reaffirmed its commitment to delivering inputs on time this farming season which would enable farmers to plan well, he said. He said President Lungu was committed to diversifying the country™s economy from dependence on copper to agriculture and lift rural communities from poverty. Mr Mweenda said the PF in Southern Province also supported the party leaderships™ commitment to upholding peace and democracy in the country as witnessed by the recent signing of a peace accord with the United Party for National Development.
