By NATION REPORTER ISOKA Town Council wants to attain municipal status by 2021 to coincide with cerebrations to mark 100 years since it became a district, council chairperson Charles Simukoko has said.
Mr Simukoko said in an interview that the local authority was working hard to ensure that the district was declared a municipality in 2021 which he described as an important year because it marked 100 years of the districts’ existence.
“As a local authority and as a district we have set ourselves a target to attain municipal status by the year 2021, we have chosen 2021 because it is an important year for Isoka as it will mark 100 years of existence as a district and we want to come and cerebrate this anniversary with a milestone achievement of becoming a municipality,” Mr Simukoko said.
