Now DRC summons Moise Katumbi’s brother
THE Congolese government has officially summoned self-exiled former Katanga Province governor Moise Katumbi's brother, Soriano for questioning in an attempt to try and arm twist the Zambian government into deporting him to that country.
This was after Soriano escaped arrest in the DRC when he successful filed his papers as a parliamentary candidate in the forthcoming general elections scheduled for this December. His elder brother, Moise, failed to file for the Presidential election.
And sources close to Mr Katumbi have revealed that an official immigration alert had been circulated to all the Congolese entry points at the borders to restrain his entry into the country.
The source said that the alert requests that the central government be notified if Mr Katumbi should make attempts to enter the DRC.
This comes after his exiled elder brother, the former governor was barred from returning home after a two-year self-imposed exile when he was convicted and sentenced to 36 months in prison.
And 71 known supporters of the exiled presidential aspirant have been rounded up and arrested for their loyalty to Mr Katumbi after they travelled from Lubumbashi to Kasumbalesa, the border town of Zambia and Congo DR to receive him a fortnight ago.
The 71 have all been taken to Kinshasa where they were being held in police custody awaiting to be charged.
