Chief Ndungu calls for more economic initiatives
SENIOR Chief Ndungu of Zambezi has called for the creation of community - led initiatives aimed at transforming the economic potential of North - Western Province.
The traditional leader explained that the province had immense potential in agriculture, fisheries and tourism, key areas that should attract investors.
Senior Chief Ndungu has since invited Luapula Province Minister Nickson Chilangwa to share information on how best to host an investment expo.
This is contained in a letter to Mr Chilangwa from national chairperson of the Likumbi Lya Mize Cultural Association Isaac Kanguya. While in Zambezi, Mr Chilangwa will be expected to interface with members of the Luvale Traditional Council. Members of the council have expressed desire to learn how best to initiate community led development to transform the potential of the District. Mr Kanguya stated that Senior Chief Ndungu had also resolved to award the minister with a certificate of recognition for the successful hosting of the Luapula Expo and Investment Conference. This would be done at this year's Likumbi Lya Mize Traditional Ceremony.
