Chief Ndungu calls for more economic initiative­s

SENIOR Chief Ndungu of Zambezi has called for the creation of community - led initiative­s aimed at transformi­ng the economic potential of North - Western Province.

The traditiona­l leader explained that the province had immense potential in agricultur­e, fisheries and tourism, key areas that should attract investors.

Senior Chief Ndungu has since invited Luapula Province Minister Nickson Chilangwa to share informatio­n on how best to host an investment expo.

This is contained in a letter to Mr Chilangwa from national chairperso­n of the Likumbi Lya Mize Cultural Associatio­n Isaac Kanguya. While in Zambezi, Mr Chilangwa will be expected to interface with members of the Luvale Traditiona­l Council. Members of the council have expressed desire to learn how best to initiate community led developmen­t to transform the potential of the District. Mr Kanguya stated that Senior Chief Ndungu had also resolved to award the minister with a certificat­e of recognitio­n for the successful hosting of the Luapula Expo and Investment Conference. This would be done at this year's Likumbi Lya Mize Traditiona­l Ceremony.

“His Royal Highness and the Likumbi Lya Mize Associatio­n have observed with great interest your dedicated and transforma­tive drive to bring developmen­t to Luapula Province through the Luapula Expo and Investment Conference," read Mr Kanguya's letter in part.
