Narep offical suspended for being inquisitive
NATIONAL Restoration Party NAREP Lusaka district chairperson Richard Malilwe has been suspended from taking part in any party activities for six months over what the disciplinary committee terms as gross misconduct, for questioning the whereabouts of National Executive Committee Members.
Party members in the district have risen against the NEC members whom they have accused of abandoning party president Elias Chipimo since their election at a convention held on December 15, 2016 and fear the party is dying because it lacks mobilization.
In a letter dated August 21, 2018, addressed to Mr. Malilwe of Mandevu Constituency, Lusaka Province disciplinary committee chairperson, Kennedy Chipasha stated that the committee found him not remorseful for his action after issuing a statement to the media on NEC members having abandoned Mr. Chipimo.
“You are therefore, suspended from your acting position as Lusaka district chairperson and all party activities for six months with immediate effect. You are further not allowed to comment on any party matters nor represent the party at any function,” reads part of the letter.
But Mr. Maliwe says he will not waste any time to appeal the decision taken by what he terms a kangaroo disciplinary committee comprising a receptionist at the secretariat and a few other individuals who were just poached from somewhere.
