Mwila praised over members’ reprieve
LIFTING of suspensions to allow people freely participate in forthcoming intra-party elections and dissolution of parallel security wings by our secretary general is testimony of flourishing intra-party democracy in the Patriotic Front, Kennedy Kamba has said.
In an interview yesterday, Mr Kamba said PF secretary general Davies Mwila had set the bar high for people who wanted to create unnecessary tension in the party by scheming to undermine their prospective opponents and hoped that the message would be received as intended.
Mr Kamba, a former Lusaka Province PF youth chairperson, and who intends to contest the Lusaka provincial PF chairmanship, said he would not be drawn in character assassination in his quest to ascend to the position but would compete on basis of ideas.
“You know that a lot has been said about me on social media but that is not the route I will use. When time for campaigning comes, I will concentrate on what I will do for the party if elected.
Mr Kamba said the PF had reached unprecedented levels of growth and expansion because it was founded on a solid democratic base which put all members on equal footing but that some individuals wanted to take positions at all costs.
He said barring or maligning some members because certain groups people did not agree with them could destroy the party.
